Bourbon Express has been playing honky tonks around New York City since 2011. Based in Brooklyn, this unlikely country band takes its cues from traditional artists such as Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn, preferring "three chords and the truth," close-knit harmonies and old-fashioned twang to the modern country sound. Their mission is to make toes tap and taps flow. Band members include singer-songwriter Katie Curley, vocalist/percussionist Sarah Kinsey, guitarist Brendan Curley, pedal steel guitarist Ron Raymond and bassist/vocalist Andrew Dykeman.
New York Music Daily describes Bourbon Express as “a first-class honky tonk band” and named "Which Wine Goes with Your Heartache" one of "The Top 100 Songs of 2015." Their self-released debut album One Big Losin' Streak was ranked in the top 10 on Roots Music Report's True Country Album Chart six weeks in a row. The Daily Country calls it "a gem; toe tapping and twangy with a sound that is decidedly old school." George Graham of WVIA's Homegrown Music deemed Bourbon Express "a great retro old-school country style band with appealing original tunes."
